"It’s in the black ink strokes and spots that I find the simplicity and strength that I so often look for, not only in art but also in life. I believe that, at times, this means of expression brings to the surface the raw essence of my plastic language. One of my favorite ways to use it is 'acting first and thinking later'. Without the interference of the mind, I feel more confident and free, mistakes are easily incorporated in the process and, not infrequently, I learn things about myself that I didn't know of."
